SD54 DFL Convention Call

Congratulations if your precinct caucus elected you to represent them as a delegate or alternate to the SD54 DFL Convention on Saturday March 13, 2010, at Roseville Area High School located at 1240 West County Road B2, Roseville, MN 55113.  The convention will be in the cafeteria. Registration begins at 9:30am and the convention begins at 10am.

What happens at the SD54 Convention?  SD54 elects SD54 officers, endorses candidates for State House seats in 54A and 54B, considers endorsement for the SD54 State Senate seat, and elects delegates to the State, 4^th Congressional District (4CD), and Ramsey County Conventions.  Delegates from St. Anthony Precincts 1 and 2 elect delegates to the 5^th Congressional District (5CD) and Hennepin County endorsing conventions and state convention.

 What happens at the 4CD, 5CD, and Ramsey County Conventions?  The 4CD and 5CD conventions endorse a candidate for the U.S. House of Representatives for the 4^th  and 5^th  Congressional Districts, and elect members to the State Constitution, Platform, and Affirmative Action Commissions. The Ramsey County convention considers endorsement for Ramsey County elected officers, including the Ramsey County Attorney. 

 What Happens at the State DFL Convention?  The State Convention will be held in Duluth April 23-25, 2010.  The convention will consider endorsements of candidates for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, Secretary of State, State Auditor, and Attorney General, among other business.
